Hey Kris,

He didn’t laminate this project, nor the previous one. You don’t have to if it’s for a temporary application (up to about six months). The suggested laminates for this material are LexJet Optically Clear Cast Gloss Laminate for longer term applications (a year or more) and LexJet Gloss Polyester Laminate (2 Mil) for shorter-term applications. The laminates are useful mainly for keeping dirt and grime out of the perforations and to guard against the curious hands of passersby. Hey Cheryl… We’ve done some testing with this and have had little to no success bringing a gloss finish down to a matte finish. We would not suggest attempting it on your expensive artwork as you are unlikely to be pleased with the results. Instead, and if you can, test a new matte finish on something that’s more expendable before you try it on your artwork.

I purchase some artwork that was put onto canvas and protected with a glossy finish…..I want to make it a matte finish to tone it down. I love the art work, but it’s way too glossy. Can I use a matte finish decoupage or a matte finish varnish without hurting the photo. Paid too much for it be ruined.

I join others in congratulating Elizabeth Ellenwood on receiving this year’s Sunset award. Daytona Beach, unlike the city of Boston, doesn’t have many opportunities for filming old juxtapositioned with new,. Ahh, a challenge! Great nich…hope to see more architectural photos..

What a disgrace! To exclude all over age 35 years of age is grossly wrong. I’m an old, old man who is still doing highly creative photography, so it is appalling that the sponsors of this contest have a mindset that seems to think the young are the only ones who can be creative..
